Itinerary
Schedule based on and around tides and can be done in reverse. Itineraries can be tailored for private group charters.
Day 1
Boarding
We start your Kimberley adventure with a 2-hour air-conditioned coach trip from Broome to Cygnet Bay. Sit back and relax as you learn about the surrounding country, culture and history from our experienced guide, and enjoy a delightful morning tea as you visit the famous Beagle Bay Church. Board vessel at Cygnet Bay and enjoy the afternoon cruise out across King Sound with sunset drinks on the bow as we steam into the evening across the racing tide. |
Day 2
Yampi Sound to Talbot Bay
We’ll start our day with a refreshing swim in a secret freshwater site, or maybe try our luck at catching a fish, before taking a scenic cruise into Talbot Bay to view and experience one of the ‘greatest wonders of the natural world’, the Horizontal Waterfalls. Departing on the tide for a sunset cruise out into the expanse of the Buccaneer Archipelago. |
Day 3
Collier Bay
Wake up in Collier Bay – home of the largest tides in the Southern Hemisphere – a truly amazing spectacle to behold. The day can be spent exploring one of several creek systems, or if you’re feeling more adventurous a climb and swim in a spectacular freshwater oasis. Leaving on the tide, we set sail north into Doubtful Bay, and the regions of dramatic red escarpments, and tidal reefs. |
Day 4
Doubtful Bay/Montgomery Reef
Doubtful Bay and the options are aplenty! Tides will dictate our daily activities, but there will be the opportunity to throw in a line, maybe try your hand at some mud crabbing, as well as numerous swimming holes and waterfalls to visit. Spend the afternoon observing the phenomena that is the truly amazing Montgomery Reef system. Watch as the reef literally rises from the ocean on the dropping tide and reveals all its hidden wonders- a day you will truly remember. |
Day 5
Camden Harbour to Hanover Bay
Start the day visiting Camden Harbour and Sheep island- the failed settlement attempt by early Europeans. Then we’ll cruise through Port George taking in some Pearling history before arriving at Hanover Bay for an afternoon excursion, fish and sunset beach walk. |
Day 6
Prince Regent River
Wake up to the grandeur of your surrounds as we cruise deep into the Prince Regent River. Then its’ out in the tenders to get some photos, and a little dip under the majestic King Cascade Falls. There is also another opportunity to enjoy a freshwater swim in one of the crystal-clear tiered pools at the top. Back on board for a sunset cruise back out of the river with drinks on the bow to reflect on this incredible place. |
Day 7
Careening Bay to Hunter River
Start the day with an early walk to the historic ‘Mermaid Tree’, one of the few places where you can see the King’s voyage of discovery along the coast, before cruising out towards the beautiful York Sound. Catch the rising tide into the Hunter River, anchoring in a stunning little location called Porosus creek. An afternoon of mud crabbing awaits. |
Day 8
Bigge Island
Spend the morning exploring the beautiful Bigge Island. A large broken sandstone island, Bigge island is home to abundance of wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for the little rock wallaby, turtle nests and crocodile tracks. There is also an opportunity to view some amazing rock art with both Wandjina and Bradshaw on display with a maritime theme. Pelagic fishing and Exploring of the Prudhoe islands to the north in the afternoon, and dinner in a lovely secluded anchorage. |
Day 9
Bigge Island to Winyalkin Island
Spend the low tide collecting the delicious Kimberley Black Lip Oyster, before wetting a line to try your hand at landing a decent pelagic. Enjoy lunch with friends and crew as you cruise to Winyalkin Island to view some more of the amazing Rock Art that’s on offer in the bay – with Gwion Gwion and Wandjina styles both available. |
Day 10
Winyalkin Island to Swift Bay
Those eager to explore Winyalkin Island further, can enjoy a morning ashore, before cruising out to Swift Bay and the home of some most spectacular and diverse rock art available. Sunset on a remote beach to reflect on the adventure and to enjoy your last evening indulging in your conquests prepared by your onboard chef. |
Day 11
Swift Bay Change-over
Disembark Kimberley Pearl between 9:00am and 10:00am (depending on tides), to board your complimentary scenic flight transfer to Kununurra. |
*Native Title Access Fee permits are applicable to all passengers. This cost will be confirmed at the beginning of the season and applied to invoices prior to final payment being invoiced and detailed separately for billing purposes as Uunguu Visitor Pass and Dambimangari Permit. Fees subject to change.
